You could say the NR2 family is the third instalment of a very successful series of designer Bertjan Pot’s experiments with fibreglass. The first NR2 Medium was introduced in 2015 and now, six years later, we introduce the NR2 Large.
Dutch Designer Bertjan Pot’s first experiments with this material resulted in the Random Light, a Moooi original from day one. A few years later his Non-Random light was introduced; a suspension lamp that, thanks to its lattice pattern resembling coiled balls of yarn, has something sweet to it. The raucous nature of the Random family and cuteness in the Non-Random light gave way for a subdued calmness in the NR2 family.
We honour our Moooi Original designs by further improving them. Therefore, NR2 suspended is now also available in a large size!
The calm focal point in a space
What sets the NR2 apart from Bertjan Pot’s first two fibreglass designs is the oval shape and integrated LED light. The design feels composed with its lattice pattern that creates a fine web that shines and glimmers in the light. The NR2, whether suspended or as a floor lamp, brings an elegant calmness to any interior.
NR2 comes as a Floor Lamp and as a Suspended Lamp in two sizes. All NR2 designs are available in black or white.
The transparency of NR2 keeps a space light and bright.
Moooi Originals

About Bertjan Pot
Bertjan Pot, the designer of the Random Light, is a more contemporary inventor than a designer. Most of his experiments start quite impulsively by a certain curiosity for how things could function or something could look. After graduating from the renowned Design Academy in Eindhoven (NL), Pot started experimenting with the glass-fibre remains of his graduation project. This resulted in the Random Light, Non Random and eventually the NR2 family.
The Button
Every NR2 is accompanied by Moooi’s digital proof of authenticity: The Button. This personal safe-keeper accompanies every Moooi design. The incorporated NFC- technology in The Button makes counterfeiting impossible and acts as proof of authenticity. By introducing The Button in our designs, we make our support in original design tangible.
